ESTONIA: THE RECORD NUMBERS

In 2022, the Italian market experienced a significant increase in interest in Estonia.
Martinengo Communication accompanied the country in achieving this extremely positive growth result, which was clearly highlighted by Amadeus research data.

According to this survey, searches for flights to Estonia from Italy recorded a growth of +64% in 2022; comparing this figure with that of other markets, it is possible to say that the Italian market recorded the greatest increase.

In the first quarter of 2023 this growth translated into +55% in arrivals of Italians in Estonia and +43% in overnight stays.

The first three months (January, February and March) of 2019 and the first three months of 2023 are compared below:

• from January 2023 compared to January 2019 there was an increase of +74% in visitor arrivals and +89% in overnight stays.
• from February 2023 compared to February 2019 there was an increase of +43% in visitor arrivals and a +19% increase in overnight stays.
• from March 2023 compared to March 2019 there was an increase of +49% in visitor arrivals and a +20% increase in overnight stays.

It can be seen that the presence of Italian tourists in Estonia almost doubled from 2019 to 2023: while the number of tourists in 2019 was 4,908, 2023 has already recorded 8,140 Italian tourists. There was also a considerable increase in the number of nights spent in the country: from 11,312 overnight stays in Estonia in 2019 to 18,676 overnight stays in 2023.
