EVA Air, a member of the Star Alliance, Taiwan’s first private international airline established in 1989 and part of the renowned Evergreen Group, kicked off operations in Italy in October 2022 with 2 weekly flights, expanding its European network for the first time in 25 years. Starting on 16 May 2023, the company will double the connections between northern Italy and Taiwan, a strategic hub for the Far East, with 4 flights a week.
Placing 9th in Airline Ratings’ 2023 ranking of the 20 safest airlines in the world, EVA Air continues to deliver on safety, service, flight operations and passenger comfort as one of the best airlines in the world. Martinengo Communication was chosen by EVA Air in the embryonic stages of preparing the airline’s arrival in Italy and was tasked with implementing the communication strategy, the advertising campaign and the events related to the celebrations of the first direct flight between Milan and Taipei in October 2022. Martinengo Communication developed the company’s entire communication strategy in Italy, the digital, offline and Out Of Home advertising campaign as well as carrying out PR and press office activities. The inaugural events took place for three consecutive days and the culmination of the celebrations was the gala evening organised at Palazzo Serbelloni, one of Milan’s most exclusive locations and a landmark for the international aristocracy, with the participation of ambassadors, institutions , media and a Taiwanese delegation composed of journalists and the company’s top management.
The advertising campaign, live from July 2022 to January 2023, and the PR activities saw a perfect integration of digital, offline and Out Of Home tools that made it possible to reach the identified targets efficiently and effectively with distinctive elements, which combined with strong demand from passengers allowed EVA Air to immediately reach an extremely high load factor.
Passengers from Milan can reach Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) early in the morning and comfortably continue their journey aboard one of EVA Air’s frequent flights throughout northeast and southeast Asia. The new flight between Milan and Taipei allows the airline to attract more travellers from Europe and the Orient who can fly comfortably and efficiently to and from EVA Air’s main hub in Taiwan to highly sought-after destinations all over Asia and Europe.
EVA Air now operates the broadest and most frequent network of flights between Europe and Taiwan.
